Toenail Antifungal Compounded Prescription (Solution)

Your healthcare provider has prescribed a custom-compounded medication designed to support your treatment.

Important: This product is a compounded medication, tailored to meet your specific needs as determined by your healthcare provider. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved because they are custom-made for individual patients and not mass-produced.

Precautions

For External Use Only: Do not ingest or apply to open wounds.

Avoid Use If: You’re allergic to any of the active/inactive ingredients listed on your label.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your provider before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Pet Safety: Prevent pets from licking treated areas or coming into contact with the solution.

How to Use

  1. Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly before application.

  2. Apply 1-2 drops of the solution directly onto the affected nail(s) using the dropper.

  3. Gently spread the solution to cover the entire nail surface and the surrounding skin.

  4. For best results, apply the medication at night to allow sufficient time for absorption while you sleep.

  5. Allow the solution to dry completely before wearing socks or shoes.

  6. Wash your hands thoroughly after application.

Tips

  • Trim and clean nails regularly to improve treatment penetration.

  • Avoid tight or non-breathable footwear to minimize fungal growth.

  • Set a reminder to apply the medication daily for consistent results.

  • Be aware that the medication may cause nail polish to lift or be removed.

What to Expect

  • Improvement in the appearance of nails may take several months as healthy nail growth replaces damaged areas.

  • Consistent use is critical for effective treatment.

  • If no improvement occurs after 6-9 months, consult your provider.
     

Stopping Use: Discontinuing treatment prematurely may allow the infection to persist or worsen.

Side Effects

  • Common: Redness, dryness, mild irritation at the application site - If area(s) gets too irritated, pause treatment then resume when irritation subsides

  • Stop use and consult your provider if you experience: Severe irritation that persists, an allergic reaction, or worsening symptoms.

Disposal

Dispose of unused or expired medication at a drug take-back site. If unavailable, mix the solution with an unappealing substance (e.g., coffee grounds), seal it in a plastic bag, and dispose of it in your household trash.
